TAKE CHARGE SERIES

Author Roderick S. Baker is a former adjunct professor of global studies.  He is a writer, speaker, and personal development mentor.  A native of Flint, Michigan, he earned a BS in electrical engineering and BA in political science from Purdue University before serving for two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bolivia.  While in South America, Baker worked as a community-based agriculture volunteer.  He later graduated from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC, with an MA in international relations.

 

The foundations for creating Take Charge of Your Future: A 1-2-3 Guide to Making Good Career Choices were set while mentoring a first-year university student.

 

Baker has developed a unique philosophy that aims to help students in their career trajectory.  His professional experience spans education, healthcare, manufacturing, and consulting.  He has served on several local non-profit boards and is a firm believer in the enduring virtues of community service.
